Finding the Gold of the Stars

INSPIRED BY "GOLD VON DEN STERNEN" BY MICHAEL KUNZE & SYLVESTER LEVAY

Imagine, you are a child again. Your world revolves around your room, your biggest worry is if you will ever be able to do a perfect cartwheel, your days are filled with laughter, love, and happiness. At least I hope that this is what your childhood looked like, or maybe similar to this. But even if not, let's just imagine that this was a reality for you. Imagine you are sitting on a warm carpet, the sun is warming your face. And suddenly a song starts playing. A song, that I used to listen to quite often when I was a child. You listen to the song that goes:

"Sometimes at night gold is falling from the Stars You can find it, Out there, where no one's been before. To be means to become, To live means to learn. When you look for the gold of the stars, You gotta go out there alone, Into the dangerous world."

How do you feel about this? You, the child that is sitting on the warm carpet, is probably super excited. Doesn't that sound amazing? There is gold falling from the stars somewhere and you can go and find it! Wow! But the song also says, that you will experience dangerous situations. I don't know what you think but I feel that this would've not held us back from the journey when we were still kids.

But today it's a bit different for some reason. We ask ourselves what "gold falling from the stars" even means. Like real gold? How big is it? How heavy? I it is really falling from the stars it'll be quite fast and that seems to be very dangerous! What if it hits me? Also: How am I supposed to transport that much gold? With what car? How big does it have to be? And most importantly: How am I supposed to even find this "where no one's ever been before"-place? Does something like this even exist? I'm pretty sure humanity discovered quite a lot of the planet already. And even if no one has ever been there before, why should I be the one to find it? QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS. Grey reality. Thinking "that's some bullshit" and carrying on. But what if we didn't ask ourselves all these questions, but listened to the words that are actually super inspiring. This "gold from the stars" is different for everyone. For some, it might be financial abundance, for others a raise, a higher position in the company, a special holiday, building a house, or a family. And that is exactly the reason why no one has ever seen the place where your gold is falling from the sky. That doesn't mean that no one has ever built a successful business, married the love of their life, or built the house of their dreams. But your personal definition of your goal, together with your own fears, dreams, hopes, and experiences – this combination is truly unique and only exists once. That is why it can get quite dangerous "out there" because there is no roadmap, that will show you step by step how you will get to that point. You can listen to people's advice, read books, or visit seminars (and trust me, I am a big fan of all of these things) but at the end of it all, you still have to push through by yourself. Ideally, you have people around you that will support you and have your back but you will still have to chase your dreams yourself.

"To be means to become, to live means to learn."

And sometimes it's not the first step that is the biggest challenge, but all of those steps that come after the first one. When your legs are tired, you look back and think "I've walked so far and there is still no end in sight", that's where the actual fight begins. To keep the momentum and the courage that you had in the beginning, that is the true art of success. Somewhere out there your gold is falling from the stars. Without trying, just like that. It is falling from the sky and landing on earth, waiting for you to come and pick it up. But the way is tough, very very tough. And sometimes when your legs are tired from all the walking, all the fighting, one needs a little reminder. A reminder that shows you that your gold exists. The journey might be long but one thing is clear: your gold is out there. Somewhere, where no one's ever been before.
